I Didn't Know I Was Happy (2024), - min
Two actresses come together in a meeting arranged by a director, with a story about happiness, technology and pain wherein the real Giedrė and Holly come to the fore.
I Didn't Know I Was Happy is a working title for a work in progress essay film that features Giedrė Antanavičiūtė and Holly de Jong, who are also co-editors and co-makers of it. This project could be read as an attempt in or proposition of research through film, in form of a dialogue captured by a camera. The actresses were given their roles and a set up to improvise in. As it progresses they shed some of its fictional constraints and enter a different parallax.
